Washington State currently hosts the following Championship Level Competitions:

Regular fees for judges for all state meets unless a 4 judge panel is used. With a 4 judge panel,
championship fees will be paid.
As per the Rules And Policies, the state board has no authority to determine competition schedules for multi-level state competitions.
Fall State Championships
Fall: No qualifying scores into sectionals for levels 4 & 5.
Three sections will be used: North, Seattle/East, South.
No qualifying into state for level 6 (no sectionals). 1 judge panels qualify level 4/5 into sectionals, and since level 6 does not need a qualifying score, a 1 judge panel is acceptable for local and invitational fall meets. Results still need to be sent into USAG Washington.

Spring Compulsory State Championships, Qualification From Sectionals:
Approved for The J.o. program in WA for the 2008-2009
Fall:

No qualifying scores into sectionals for levels 4&5.
Four sections will be used.

Results need to be sent into USAG washington.
Level 5 state will remain in the current form, however, the qualifying gymnasts will be divided into 12 equal sized age groups (or close to equal). The number of gymnasts qualifying into state will be increased to 264 gymnasts (3 sessions of 88 or 4 sessions of 66). Top 3 AA in each regular age group per section plus extras by our normal format. Level 5 competition on Saturday, level 6 on Sunday.
Level 4 will remain g/s/b format, bronze will compete the 1st 2 sessions on Sat, silver the 3rd Sat. session and the 1st Sunday session (if numbers permit both silver meets may be held on Saturday), gold the 2nd and 3rd sunday session. Each division will be divided into 8 equal sized age divisions.
The Draw is as follows:
1. The host will determine the age groupings.
2. The host will free draw the session times and event and gymnast orders. This draw must be witnessed by: Sectionals: USAG WA Board member, SJD, Meet Referee for your sectional meet, or Pro Member from another club in your section. State: USAG WA Board Member, SJD, or meet referee for your state meet. Draw results must be given to the witness prior to learning the draw location.
Spring Optional State Championships
Level 7-10:
32.00 All-Around in one in-state meet, meet date you received your qualifying score must be listed on your state entry form. In-state qualifying scores must be sent to the state director. Level 7-10 format level 9/10 on Friday, level 7 on Saturday, level 8 on Sunday. One set of team awards for each level (no level 7 small team).

During Competition, only the competitor, judges, meet workers and coaches are allowed by the competitive equipment.
Two judge panels and a working meet referee are required at all Sectional Championship meets.
Two judge panels with a separate meet referee for all 4 State Championship meets, Dec. 2007 through May 2008.
The SAC may elect to use Skill Evaluators as one of a two judge panel for Level 4 State Championship meets.
Rated judges are required for all State Championships.
Judges assigned to Fall or Spring Compulsory State Championships must have also judged at least three meets at that level or (Spring only) judge the Level 4, or 5/6 Sectional Competition that season.
Open scoring and flashing start values is required at all optional meets, levels 7-10.
There will be no injury petition to State Championships for Levels 4,5 and 6. Injury petitions for levels 7 – 10 as outlined in USAG Rules and Policies.
Sectional and State Championships require a free draw for competition and athlete order. For Sectional Championships the date, time and location of the draw must be made public so any professional member can witness the draw. State Championship draws must be witnessed by a non-affiliated USAG Washington Board Member or an approved representative of the board.
Sectional and State Championship information must be mailed to all clubs in the section a minimum of three (3) weeks prior to the competition or at the Sectional Championship for level 4 – 6. Times may be tentative. It is the responsibility of each sectional meet host to collect entry forms and fees from the athletes qualifying to state. These must be sent one day air to the state meet host of that level the Monday following your weekend meet.
Level Determination: Athletes may not move back a level after 10/15/07 for Fall State Championships or 03/01/08 for Spring State Championships without petitioning the State Board.
All coaches and judges are required to wear their USAG Card at all sanctioned competitions.
All meet hosts are only required to provide a DVD player for music.
USAG WA recommends snack foods to be provided for the coaches hospitality at USAG State competitions. Meals for coaches are not required.

**If an age group has more than 44 athletes at Levels 5-10 State, it will be divided at State Championships
**Level 8 and 9: Each level will be divided into four equal age groups.
**Level 10: 3 equal age groups.
**Level 8, 9 and 10 age groups will be determined after State Championships for Regionals and Nationals by the National office.
**Level 4 State: After entries are recieved, each level of state (gold, silver, bronze) will be divided into 6 similar sized age groups.
Washington will award both Large Team and Small Team State Champions for level 4 through level 7.
Upon receiving entries the meet host will place 50% of the teams in the large club division and 50% of the clubs in small club.
Three scores count for both large and small teams. Gymnasts scratching after the final draw does not affect the small/large status of your team.
This item is revised annually and is subject to change per circumstance of state meet.
To be eligible to be a State Championship Judge, you must have an Optional rating. For compulsory state meets, you must have had your optional rating for a minimum of three years. For the optional state meet, you must have had your level 10 rating a minimum of five years.
To be eligible to be a Head Judge at a State Competition a judge must have held a level 10 or higher rating for the previous six consecutive years prior to the State Championship.
The USAG Washington board bases their State Championship Meet Judges selection on the following criteria:
Follow all guidelines per NAWGJ and USAG rules and polices for Championships.
Any USAG Washington Registered Club may bid on a Sectional or State Championship Meet by using a USAG Bid Form. The form will be mailed to all clubs with host decisions made on or no later than August 1st of each year for the following year.
