Regular fees for judges for all state meets unless a 4 judge panel is used. With a 4 judge panel,
championship fees will be paid. No chief judge fee -per Technique 7/08 pg. 41. The state board has the authority to determine competition schedules for multi-level state competitions.

Level 5 State
will remain in the current form, however, the qualifying gymnasts will be divided into 12 equal sized age groups (or close to equal). The number of gymnasts qualifying into state will be increased to 264 gymnasts (3 sessions of 88 or 4 sessions of 66). Top 3 AA in each regular age group per section plus extras on a % basis. Level 5 competition on Saturday, level 6 on Sunday.
Level 4 State
will remain g/s/b format, bronze will compete the 1st 2 sessions on Sat, silver the 3rd Sat. session and the 1st Sunday session (if numbers permit both silver meets may be held on Saturday), gold the 2nd and 3rd Sunday session. Each division will be divided into 8 equal sized age divisions. The youngest age group for silver state should not be on the late Saturday session.
Level 4 Sectional Team Competition
There will be a Level 4 team sectional meet in 2009 to be held in conjunction with Level 6 State. At level 4 Spring Sectionals, the top 15 AA gymnasts, regardless of age group, will make up the sectional team. (Ties for 15th place will be included.) Entry fee of $20 per gymnast payable to USAG WA at your sectional meet. Each competitor will receive a sectional leotard to wear at the meet. Gymnasts declining the meet or not paying their entry fee at the meet conclusion, will be replaced by the next highest scoring gymnast. 10 scores will count towards the team score on each event for each of the four sectional teams. Each team member wll be presented with a t-shirt and receive a placement trophy.
The Draw is as follows:
1. The host will determine the age groupings.
2. The host will free draw the session times and event and gymnast orders. This draw must be witnessed by: Sectionals: USAG WA Board member, SJD, Meet Referee for your sectional meet, or Pro Member from another club in your section. State: USAG WA Board Member, SJD, or meet referee for your state meet. Draw results must be given to the witness prior to learning the draw location.
Level 7-10:
32.00 All-Around in one in-state meet, meet date you received your qualifying score must be listed on your state entry form. In-state qualifying scores must be sent to the state director. Level 7-10 format level 9/10 on Friday, level 7 on Saturday, level 8 on Sunday. One set of team awards for each level (no level 7 small team).

Level 4 and 5: Achievement ribbons only for events (ALL MEETS with these levels in WA), with placement for All Around only. USAG Medals must be used per USAG Rules and Policies, using the official medals or other medals/rosettes/trophies must be used. At least 35% in each age group must receive an all around award.
Level 6 – 10: Same format as level 4 and 5 for all around. Event awards must also be given, to reach the 35% state award requirement.
During Competition, only the competitor, judges, meet workers and coaches are allowed in the competitive arena.
Two judge panels and a working meet referee are required at all Sectional Championship meets.
The SAC may elect to use Skill Evaluators as one of a two judge panel for Level 4 Sectional Championship meets.
Two judge panels with a separate meet referee for all 4 State Championship meets, Dec. 2008 through May 2009. (Unless approved by the State Director to use a working meet referee.)
Rated judges are required for all State Championships.
Judges assigned to Fall or Spring Compulsory State Championships must have also judged at least two meets at that level or judge the Level 4 and 5 Sectional Competition that season.
Open scoring and flashing start values is required at all optional meets, levels 7-10.
Due to the qualifying procedure, there will be no injury petition to State Championships for Levels 4 and 5 Fall and Level 5 Spring. Injury petitions for Spring Level 4 and 7 – 10 as outlined in USAG Rules and Policies.
Sectional and State Championships require a free draw by the host for athlete order. Free draw for the squad/age group order will be done by the USAG WA Board. For State Championships the date, time and location of the draw must be made public so any professional meember can witness the draw.
Compulsory Sectionals and Optional State Championship information must be mailed to all clubs in the section at least three (3) weeks prior to the entry fee due date. State information will be given out at the Sectional Championship for levels 4-6. Times may be tentative. It is the responsibility of each sectional meet host to collect entry forms and fees from the athletes qualifying to state. These must be sent one day air to the state meet host of that level the Monday following your weekend meet. Sectional hosts must collect fees and leotard sizes (and forward them to the appropriate locations) for the sectional team qualifiers.
All coaches and judges are required to have their USAG Card at all sanctioned competitions.These should be available to the meet director upon request.
USAG WA recommends snack foods to be provided for the coaches hospitality at USAG State competitions. Meals for coaches are not required.

**If an age group has more than 44 athletes at Levels 4-10 State, it should be divided at State Championships. (Special accomodations may be approved by the USAG Sate Director.)
**Level 8 and 9: Each level will be divided into three or four equal age groups.
**Level 10: 2 or 3 equal age groups.
**Level 8, 9 and 10 age groups will be determined after State Championships for Regionals and Nationals by the National office.
**Level 4 State: After entries are recieved, each level of state (gold, silver, bronze) will be divided into 8 similar sized age groups.
There will be no team competition at level 4 State.
Washington will award both Large Team and Small Team State Champions for level 4 Fall, and levels 5 and 6 if there are at least 20 clubs entered in that level with three or more competitors.Upon receiving entries the meet host will place 50% of the teams in the large club division and 50% of the clubs in small club.
For level 7-10 there will be one set of team awards.
Five scores count for large and three scores count for small teams and when one set of team awards is given. Gymnasts scratching after the final draw does not affect the small/large status of your team.
This item is revised annually and is subject to change per circumstance of state meet.
To be eligible to be a State Championship Judge, you must have an Optional rating. For compulsory state meets, you must have had your optional rating for a minimum of three years. For the optional state meet, you must have had your level 10 rating a minimum of five years.
To be eligible to be a Head Judge at a State Competition a judge must have held a level 10 or higher rating for the previous six consecutive years prior to the State Championship.
